Friends,
Thank you all for your ongoing support of Peer Support Network (PSN)! This holiday season, we have much to be thankful for. Our clients are especially thankful for all that you have helped them to accomplish! The past year has brought great changes in each of their lives, and we would like to take this time to catch you up a few highlights from some of our clients. Kecia has made amazing progress over the past year. You may recall that when we first met Kecia, she was bed bound and unable to speak. She now can get herself to and from a wheelchair and have meaningful conversations with friends, family, and PSN volunteers! She has moved into an assisted living facility where she has continued to increase in independence. She now goes to church and social events weekly and even participates in therapeutic exercise classes! Sarah has also had a great year. She has been interviewed on several podcasts about her chronic medical condition and, with the help of PSN volunteers, has published an article in a peer reviewed journal. Your donations have provided art supplies and Sarah has become very involved in art classes. Her paintings have been donated to local hospitals and auctioned off for charity events, with the funds raised going to the continuation of art classes for disabled adults! Jimmy returned home from his long-term rehabilitation facility and faced struggles with adjustment to daily life. With the help of PSN donations, he was able to relocate to be closer to family and furnish a studio apartment very near to his sister! PSN volunteers have continued to meet with Jimmy regularly to provide social support and encouragement. Jimmy has provided great education to our volunteers, and his interactions with them have been inspirational for all involved! If you are interested in hearing more updates or want to become more involved with PSN, please reach out to us at peersuppnetwork@gmail.com. Again, we want to thank you for your support of our clients and wish you a very happy holiday season! Best Wishes, Peer Support Network Board of Directors
